Overview

This course provides information on types, classification, potential effects and management controls of hazardous substances in the workplace

Who Should Attend

This course is best suited for people who hold some responsibility for the use of hazardous substances in the workplace and is also ideally suited to support line managers

Course Objectives

As a result course attendees will gain knowledge of:

  • Classifying hazardous substances;
  • Potential adverse effects of hazardous substances on the body and environment, types of exposure monitoring, and treatment options
  • Safe storage, tracking requirements, handling, and disposal of hazardous substances
  • Response to uncontrolled release of hazardous substances.

Pre-Requisites

  • Be 16 years of age or over
  • Applicants for whom English is a second language must meet IELTS (or equivalent) Level 5.0 (General Training). Proof of this will be required.
